Graphite & Carbon Components for High-Temperature Furnaces
Precision-machined graphite, carbon/carbon composite, and rigid felt insulation components — engineered for the thermal, mechanical, and chemical demands of industrial vacuum and inert gas furnaces.

Carbon-Based Materials Define the High-Temperature Hot Zone
Above 1,000°C, the material selection options narrow sharply. Refractory metals oxidize without inert atmosphere control, ceramics lose fracture toughness, and structural stability becomes a primary design constraint. Carbon-based materials — isostatic graphite, extruded graphite, carbon fiber reinforced carbon (CFC), rigid carbon fiber felt, and graphite foil — are the only material class that simultaneously delivers:
- High-temperature mechanical stability — graphite gains compressive strength as temperature rises, with peak performance between 1,500°C and 2,500°C
- Low thermal mass and high thermal conductivity — enables rapid heat-up cycles and uniform temperature distribution across the load
- Chemical inertness — resistant to most molten metals, oxides, and reactive gas atmospheres under vacuum or inert conditions
- Machinability — all Max Graphite grades are precision-machinable to tight dimensional tolerances, enabling complex geometries without secondary processing
Max Graphite supplies complete hot zone material solutions: heating elements, insulation systems, heat shields, and structural tooling — in standard geometries or custom-engineered to your furnace design.

Max Graphite Hot Zone Solutions
Heating Elements
Isostatic fine-grain graphite, extruded graphite, and CFC — in rod, tube, meander, U-element, and custom profiles. We advise on grade and geometry based on your furnace size, cycle frequency, and atmosphere; you get a specified component, not a catalog pick.
Furnace Insulation
Rigid and soft carbon fiber felt in board, cylinder, and block formats, matched to your operating temperature and thermal resistance requirement. Our team specifies the grade — you don't have to.
Heat Shields and Thermal Barriers
CFC composite multilayer panels and flexible graphite foil liners, supplied as engineered assemblies. Foil liner configurations are designed to your furnace geometry, including diffusion barrier and release liner functions for sintering applications.
Structural and Tooling Components
- Charging racks and sinter plates — standard sizes in stock; custom geometries developed to your load configuration
- Fasteners — CFC screws, bolts, threaded rods, and nuts in standard and custom thread profiles
- Tubes, cylinders, and crucibles — wound and laminated CFC, and high-density isostatic graphite
- HIP hot pressing dies — filament-wound CFC for combined high-pressure and high-temperature sintering
- Profiles, plates, and frame structures — CFC stock and custom-cut for insulation mounting and interior assemblies
