Role Overview

The Senior Materials Scientist is a hands-on research role focused on material development, testing, and performance validation of graphite, carbon, and carbon-carbon (C/C) materials.This role bridges research and engineering and supports both new material development and customer applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct experimental research on graphite, carbon, and C/C materials
  • Perform material characterization and performance testing
  • Support development of new grades, treatments, or composite systems
  • Analyze failure modes, contamination risks, and lifecycle behavior
  • Work closely with engineers on application-specific requirements
  • Prepare technical documentation and research summaries

Qualifications

  • PhD in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field
  • 3–6 years of post-PhD experience (industry or applied research)
  • Strong understanding of carbon materials and testing methodologies
