Senior Materials Scientist (Graphite, Carbon, C/C)

Role Overview
The Senior Materials Scientist is a hands-on research role focused on material development, testing, and performance validation of graphite, carbon, and carbon-carbon (C/C) materials.This role bridges research and engineering and supports both new material development and customer applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct experimental research on graphite, carbon, and C/C materials
- Perform material characterization and performance testing
- Support development of new grades, treatments, or composite systems
- Analyze failure modes, contamination risks, and lifecycle behavior
- Work closely with engineers on application-specific requirements
- Prepare technical documentation and research summaries
Qualifications
- PhD in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field
- 3–6 years of post-PhD experience (industry or applied research)
- Strong understanding of carbon materials and testing methodologies
